Abstract
The healthiness in the Bukavu city, more specifically in
suprior teaching institutions ISDR, ISTM and ISP was at the centre of our
preoccupations to the point of bringing us to achieve this work entitled: "
the condition of solid wastes management in superior teaching institution of
the city of Bukavu: ISP, ISDR and ISTM Bukavu ". The strong garbage management
in these surroundings is characterized by a permanence of trash cans, a system
of vidage and evacuation verse of discharges no distant of lodgings, of rooms
of auditorium or offices. Garbages heaped in these discharges are submitted to
a sorting facilitated by the itinerant collectors.
The remainder of these garbages is burnt without that no
measure of hygiene or environnementale is taken. This wild incineration is
limited by factors climatic géos as the rainy season characterized by
the permanent rains that humidify the strong garbages. This state of thing even
handicaps the use of the incinerator (case of the veuverie to ISP/BUKAVU),
because garbages submitted to the special sorting must be dry before being
introduced in this last.
The humidity caused by these rains drags a certain fast
organic garbage decomposition with as consequence the sickening odor clearing,
the pauperization of flies and other unfavorable situations to the human life,
giving a bad picture of the institution thus.
The objective of our survey is to analyze fashions of strong
garbage management in vogue in the three institutions superior of the city of
Bukavu: ISP, ISDR and ISTM to identify strengths and weakness of it. It will be
possible through the description of the system of strong garbage management in
vogue in these institutions. Also, through the analysis and the assessment of
these systems of strong garbage management and in end through the development
of strategies susceptible to bring an improvement in their management. The idea
here is to conceive one fashion of management can be judged ecological in
concert with the different actors implied in the strong garbage management in
these surroundings.
The analysis and the discussion of investigation results made
us understand that: the efficient presence of trash cans in these institutions
is recognized by all investigated very well 100% of our survey sample. In
counterpart 32,7% either 49 investigated recognize the persistence of the
problem of strong garbage management in their institutions. Of these last, 13
collected very well 26,5% of them assign him to the sickening odor presence, 9
investigated 18,4% to the uncontrolled discharge existence very well, 22,4%
either 11 investigated assign him to the presence of flies and 16 investigated
soit32,7% to the presence of garbages to the inappropriate places.
For what is the ecological strong garbage management in these
institutions, 50,7% find that the incineration is a polluting technique.
However, his/her/its application is incontournable and require the resolution
of all factors limiting identified by our investigated to know
:l'humidité during the rainy season (20%), a good use of trash cans
(27,3%) ,l ' absence or bad sorting (6%), discharges to the bad places (14%),
garbages that drag in the trash can (32%).
Had consideration to what precedes, we intend to take of it to
us through the organization of the strong garbage sorting facilitated by the
existence of two distinct trash cans of which; one for the organic garbages and
the other for garbages no organic: plastic, glasses, fer,...à every
place. Then, through the appropriation of the use of these last by all actors
implied in the strong garbage management in these student surroundings. These
trash cans will carry all of lids and their vidage will make himself
permanently (several times per days) and will be followed by the organic
garbage evacuation toward raising as pasture. Garbages no organic as for them,
will be oriented toward discharges distributed to a distant place of lodgings,
auditoriums and offices.
At the level of distributed discharges, garbages no organic
are delivered to a second sorting. The pursued objective is to separate the
reusable garbages of those here no reusable. The reusable are delivered to the
different claimants and the no reusable separated in combustible garbages and
in garbages no fuels. No-fuels are vowed to the burying while fuels are
incinerated by means of incinerators distributed next to these discharges. All
these operations make themselves in the strict respect of rules
environnementaleses required.
