ABSTRACT
To inform its audience in the region, the regional station of
Radio Okapi in Goma installed since February 25th, 2002 use certain
journalistic practices. These are represented through a pie chart containing a
spoken newspapers and magazines, about 60 minutes of what we call "regional
Stall". In the newspaper spoken in about 10 minutes, are operated short formats
(leads, news, papers, sounds, packages, etc.), while the long formats are the
subject of magazines (Dossier, Invité of Radio Okapi, etc.).
Almost all these journalistic formats are declined on the
basis of a clear editorial line. Know "Rigorous factual information based
at least on moral and professional values of objectivity and
impartiality." An editorial line in place since the existence of this
"peace media" on February 25th, 2002 by MONUSCO and his then
partner, Fondation Hirondelle.
A strategy that has allowed especially Radio Okapi to "resist"
to the much government pressure, including threats of closure. Although this
has not prevented notably the loss of two radio journalists killed in Bukavu,
in not yet elucidated circumstances in 2006 and 2007.These are Serge MAHESHE
and Didace NAMUJIMBO.
Introduce young journalists hired by Radio Okapi / Goma in
2015 to journalistic writing based on this editorial strategy as well as the
media corpus current on our radio has been our approach throughout the session
in situ, initiated from April to June 2015 by our editor. Although our in situ
interventions began already in 2011, even before in 2008-2010 somewhat
informally.
This in situ session was also an opportunity to ask ourselves
the question: "Can we, with a minimum content as the one currently
practiced by Radio Okapi / Goma, with a minimum budget and also in a
post-conflict environment, achieve a journalist form usable by the media that
abound in the region?"
By the way, indeed 20 years of armed conflict persists in
North Kivu, at least twenty radios and / or T.V. were born in the province,
according to the Collective of community radios and televisions in North Kivu,
Coracon.

And there are many NGOs and other organizations that create
radio stations for sensitization of farmers and other citizens in respect of
human rights. This, in a space where journalism schools are lacking.
With Philippe DE BOECK, let's say that this is possible.
Provide it meets certain standards of training in situ. Including the formation
in the environment of the enterprise, the extension of the training (at least 3
months) duration and the judicious choice of the speaker in situ.
