ABSTRACT
The young landscape company EVS has tripled its turnover, only
3 years after its creation, placing it in 6th position of landscape companies
in Savoie. Nevertheless, the company's activity is fragile and faces many
problems, caused by its location and the typology of its current premises.
Created in 2017, EVS is originally a filiale of the company
EVD (located in Grenoble), which was deployed in a sector full of public works
"la Savoie", to cope with a sharp decline in public works in the department of
ISERE in 2014. The company expanded from 2015 to 2017 to finally emancipate and
become the S.A.S.U Espace Vert Savoie Mont Blanc (EVS) in 2017. Little by
little, it has tended to become independent, developing its support functions
and site staff. She stays nevertheless in the Veridis group, which helps her a
lot in the development of her activity.
EVS, although young, is made up of an experienced executive
staff, which has been able to create strong links with many partners in Savoie
and does not seem to have any operational problems. However, the difficulty in
recruiting EVS has disrupted its stability. Indeed, Savoie is experiencing an
ageing population and a major concentration of its demographics on the
Chambéry side, the company being pushed aside to be close to its first
market sector (the Maurienne), it finds itself with difficulties in recruiting
and retaining its staff, which represents a threat to the continuity of the
business in the event of the departure of one of its executives. The evaluation
of EVS's needs in terms of installation thermal facilities is carried out to
determine its preferred installation zone and to know the impacts of a
rapprochement or not of its employment basin and to initiate the solutions to
be brought there.
EVS' financial capacity to change to larger premises is
assessed to highlight the state of uncertainty in which EVS' management finds
itself. Not yet aware of the consequences of the COVID 19 contingency and the
impact of the electoral cycle on public works; the company anticipates the
worst and develops its other types of markets so as not to be overly impacted
by a potential drop in public works.
EVS's growing activity makes the current premises unsuitable
for the number of employees and vehicles. For example, there is a need for
double the surface area for offices and manoeuvring area. Needs that represent
problems of safety, productivity/efficiency and employee comfort. The typology
of ideal premises for EVS is defined and allows the establishment of measures
for the redevelopment of existing premises and the development of a research
strategy for new premises more suited to the needs of EVS.
