RESUMÉ

Les forêts du monde couvrent près de 3,8 milliards d'hectares. La République du Congo couvre 22,4 millions d'hectares répartis en trois grands ensembles: Le massif du Nord, le massif de Chaillu et le massif du Mayombe. La surexploitation du massif du Mayombe a amené les forestiers àse poser très tôt la question sur disponibilitéde la diversité biologique et la reconstitution du patrimoine forestier. De 1949 jusqu'à nos jours, plusieurs initiatives de reboisement des zones dégradées du Mayombe ont été menées dans le but de concourir au maintien et à la restauration de la diversité biologique et des fonctions productives des forêts du sud du Congo.Cette étude a pour objectif d'évaluer la biodiversité dans le sous-bois des Terminalia superbaEngl. & Diels et de quantifier en même tempsles stocks de carbone séquestrésen vue d'apprécier l'incidence du reboisement sur la reconstitution forestière et la génération des stocks de carbone.

ABSTRACT

The forests of the world cover nearly 3,8 billion hectares.The Republic of Congo covers 22,4 million hectares divided into three great sets:Solid mass of North, solid mass of Chaillu and solid mass of Mayombe.The overexploitation of the solid mass of Mayombe led the foresters to very early raise the question about availability of biological diversity and the reconstitution of the forest inheritance.From 1949 until or days, several initiatives of afforestation of the degraded zones of Mayombe were carried out with an aim of contributing to the maintenance and the restoration of biological diversity and the productive functions of the forests of the south of Congo.This study aims to evaluate the biodiversity in the underwood of Terminalia superba Engl. & Diels and to quantify at the same time carbon stocks sequestered in order to appreciate the incidence of the afforestation on the forest reconstitution and the generation of carbon stocks.
