4.2.3 Reasons why women become entrepreneurs

There are many reasons that make women make decision to become entrepreneurs. The figure 4.4 depicts the main reasons.

The figure 4.1 above indicates that 46.67% of the respondents stated that they needed to be independent and self-employee as the government encourages people to become entrepreneurs;

21.67% stated that they had too little income and needed more income to improve their life standards; 16.67% stated that they were unemployed or lost their jobs; 13.33% stated that they have no education background enough to search for jobs so they decided to become self employed; 1.67% stated that she became entrepreneur after being handicap.

4.2.4 Source of finance when they become entrepreneurs

The figure 4.2 above show that when asked about the sources of finance they used at the start of being entrepreneur, 12 out of 60 (20%) stated that they used they own savings or their own funds; 9 out of 60(15%) stated that they used commercial banks loans, 23 out of 60(38.3) stated that they got money from cooperatives and they work in cooperative, 12 out of 60(20%) stated that they got money from friends and relatives, 4 out of 60(6.7%) stated that they got money from NGOs or other sponsors.
