Uneforet représente un groupe d'arbres ne formant pas un groupe de nom connexe ; mais qui peuvent se partager un même catalogue global. Une infrastructure Active Directory incorpore au moins une forêt qui est créé lors de l'installation du premier contrôleur de domaineactive directory sur leréseau.
