ABSTRACT:
The zone study (Synclinal of Djelfa) belongs to the semi-arid
zones, with precipitations 334mm. This zone includes the Mio-Plio-Quaternary
aquifer, which plays an important role in the supply of irrigation water as
well as drinking water for the region.
The objective of this work is the piezometric study as well as
the hydrochemical studies of groundwaters of the Mio-Plio-Quaternary
aquifer.
The obtained results of the piezometric study make it possible
to highlight the general direction of flow towards the North-East with
hydraulic gradients varying from 0.5 to 2 %.
In addition , the hydrochemical study reveals that the quasi
totality of the studied water wells present calcic bicarbonated and calcic
sulphated facies.
The examination of the iso-concentrations map representing the
variation of the various physicochemical parameters; allows noting a high
degree of mineralization at the North-West part and the far North-East of the
studied area.
Finally, the study of the groundwater aptitude for the
irrigation of the agricultural lands shows that the majority of the water wells
have an acceptable quality for the irrigation, except for some areas in the
North-West and the far North-East .
